Know the deck before memorizing definitions
Tarot has 22 Major Arcana cards and 56 Minor Arcana cards. The Major Arcana
gives you a sequence of larger themes and turning points. The Minor Arcana
divides everyday experience among Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles, with numbered stages and four court cards in each suit.
Start by recognizing the group, suit, rank, and visible action. That structure narrows the question before a memorized keyword does.
The Three of Cups and Three of Swords share a rank but develop very different social and mental situations.
Use one clear question and one small spread
A useful beginner question asks about a pattern or action you can observe: “What should I understand before this conversation?” is more
workable than “Tell me everything that will happen.” Begin with one card or a
three-position layout rather than adding cards whenever the answer feels uncertain.
Name each position before drawing. The same card has a different job in Context, Obstacle, Advice, and Likely Direction. A future or
outcome position describes the path suggested by current conditions, not an event that has already been fixed.
